You've done it!
Thank you so much for your huge effort to help us exceed our target of 80% for this years Subscriptions.
For those of you that have not yet paid please can you arrange to do this. If you are having any difficulty with this then please do contact your Commissioner.
This Month’s Top Tip for Mentors
When mentors sign off the modules that means they are complete.  I just verify what you have done. If you have any doubts on what you are signing give me a call and we can discuss it. When completing module 2 part 3 they can join or organise something with another unit.  They do not have to wait to organise something like Thinking Day or a District Event. This part of the scheme is about getting to know Leaders outside your unit. As it says in the book it does not have to be a major project.  It is the Leader’s choice and you are there to assist and encourage.
For those who are still working on the Leadership Scheme please do not forget New Leaders Day on 17th May 2014 and later on in the year Members Day - 18th October 2014 where you will be able to attend some programme training for the section you are working with.
Please look out on the website for additional trainings to help you run your units.

International Community Experience - Skreens Park - 13th - 15th June

International Community Experience (ICE) is a wonderful opportunity for Guides aged 11-13. The event aims to encourage girls to think about their community and issues in the wider world, with an international component if they wish to explore it further.

Guides should attend one of two ICE weekends at different venues around the Region, where they will learn more about the project and also undertake a local service challenge.

Leaders selection for Region is on the 21st of June

Following on from the launch in September 2013 of the Going Away with Scheme and Going Away With Licence, it has been brought to our attention that it is not clear which modules of the scheme need to be held as a pre-requisite before working towards the Travelling Abroad Module.

We would like to confirm that the pre-requisite to working towards the Travelling Abroad module is that the Leader must have completed the following:

ï‚· Going Away With Licence (modules 1-4)

ï‚· Have led a Girlguiding residential event lasting 2 nights or more

ï‚· Have completed the programme module of the Going Away With Scheme, (module 6), for the section they are taking away on the international trip.

Big Brownie Birthday Media Team
We are looking for volunteers who would like to join in with the Big Brownie Birthday by helping us put together a record of the day on 21st June 2014.
Thank you to those who have already been in touch. If you would like to get involved we need photographers, videographers and reporters/interviewers. You do not need to have any previous experience. You will be required to interact with our suppliers, Leaders and Brownies and to have the appropriate equipment for your role.

Where will you be in 2020?

It can be easy to get into the habit of thinking only one week (or one term) ahead. But to make sure everything we do is taking Girlguiding in the right direction, we need a longer-term plan as well. And to make sure it’s something we can all get behind, we’d like as many members of guiding as possible to contribute to it.

Please take a few minutes to fill in
this survey and tell us what our priorities should be between now and 2020. What should we be doing differently in 2020? And how can we prepare girls to meet future challenges? This is your chance to tell us.
