29th April 2017

Have you ever wanted to have a go at learning to Scuba Dive?

Well, now is your chance, for girls aged 14 and over, to go scuba diving at a local dive centre. No previous experience is necessary.

Do you have any budding entertainers in your unit? Would they like the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience? Email the County office with details and they could be performing on Thursday 29th June at the Queens Theatre, Hornchurch.
A massive THANK YOU to everyone who submitted their entries to our Thank You Card Competition!
We had an overwhelming response (303 entries from 32 units!) which made judging very tricky. These were made up of 61 submissions from Rainbows, 146 from Brownies, 89 from Guides and 7 from Members of The Senior Section.

And the winners are…
Lauren, 1st Dunmow Rainbows
Karolinka Wojewodka, 10th Romford Brownies
Zoe Endean, 3rd Harlow Guides
Heather Street for The Senior Section

A generic card has also been designed for when a section specific card may not be appropriate.
A stock of these Thank You Cards will be available via Division Commissioners after Easter and can be used by any volunteer wishing to thank anyone who has helped make guiding happen in their area.
These are part of the pilot work Essex West is doing with Head Office and The Pears Foundation under the Improving Access to Guiding Project. A survey will be out later this year so that we can gather your feedback on these and all other initiatives we’ve been working on with the County. Should you wish to contact us sooner then please do so via email to
penelope.grenfell@girlguiding.org.uk or visit our page on the Essex West website to find out what else we have been up to http://www.girlguidingessexwest.org.uk/ia2g.html
The Volunteer Pool is open to all…

Whether it’s a skill that you or someone you know would like to add to our list, or maybe you are planning for next Term’s Programme, either way take a look at our Volunteer Pool or contact Pat Parsons for more information.

It would be much appreciated if District Commissioners and Level Contacts could pass on the information in this newsletter to anyone in their District that does not have access to e-mail. Section Leaders are asked to cascade to Young Leaders and D of E / V-Volunteers. There are still some people not receiving their copy of the newsletter as their email address on Go! is incorrect. Please check and make sure that your details are up to date. If you do not wish to receive future copies of the E-Bulletin, please use the facility at the end of this issue to unsubscribe.
