Applications Open for the John Hobday Awards in Arts Management
Mid-career and established arts administrators seeking assistance with professional development are encouraged to apply for the John Hobday Awards in Arts Management. Funded by the Canada Council for the Arts, the John Hobday Awards in Arts Management awards two prizes of $10,000 to talented arts administrators in Canadian professional arts organizations to put towards professional development or mentoring opportunities. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply to the Canada Council for the Arts by email no later than Wednesday, March 1st, 2023.

Apply for the Canada-Korea Connections Fund

The Canada Council for the Arts has partnered with Arts Council Korea and Global Affairs Canada to support projects that will deepen and diversify creative, collaborative relationships between Korean artists and artists from Canada. The Canada-Korea Connections Fund will provide grants of up to CA$10,000 to support creative research and relationship building projects that develop a shared understanding and strengthen artistic relationships, increasing future capacity for potential creative collaborations between people from Canada and Korea. AFC Reactivation Program Closes March 10th
The AFC Reactivation program provides direct financial assistance to independent and self-employed workers in the live performance sector who are experiencing financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic. One-time payments of $2,500 are available for performing arts professionals in Canada outside of the province of Quebec. Learn About Indigenous Justice with Home on Native Land

RAVEN - Respecting Aboriginal Values and Environmental Needs has created a new program, Home on Native Land, a self-guided course about Indigenous justice in Canada. Through a series of 10 videos, cartoons & lessons, you'll take a walk down the back alley of history — and the frontlines of legal action — with Anishinaabe comedian Ryan McMahon as he is joined in conversation by leading First Nations thinkers, artists, and legal experts. Indigenous Artists and Wikidata Explorations and Consultations Report
This report—authored by Brit Johnston, Frédéric Julien, and Anju Singh—explores how descriptive information about Indigenous artists can be accurately and respectfully represented as linked open data in Wikidata, an open knowledge base. The report was published as part of the Linked Digital Future initiative, a CAPACOA initiative funded by the Government of Canada and the Canada Council for the Arts.
