#LightUpLive: A Day of Visibility for the Live Event Community
  LightUpLive.Ca banner - 22 Sept 2020
On Tuesday, September 22nd, venues and live event professionals are invited to light their spaces red to raise awareness for an industry that remains dark.

Live event workers are encouraged to participate using social media using the hashtags #LightUpLive and #EclaironsLesScenes, and participating venues and installations can be tracked on an interactive map at https://lightuplive.ca.

The event, which follows similar days of visibility in England, Germany, and the US, is organized by Live Event Community, a group of live performance professionals that has come together to provide awareness and support for the sector during the pandemic.

If you are interested in participating, check out the event package here.

NAC Publishes Reopening Guide

In response to the extraordinary circumstances in which our sector finds itself, and to help lead the Canadian performing arts sector toward recovery, the National Arts Centre has developed a series of tools for the re-opening of performing arts centres and venues. The tools were developed in collaboration with leaders from more than 40 performing arts organizations from across the country.

The NAC Guide to Support the Re-Opening of Canadian Performing Arts Centres and Venues is designed to help the Canadian performing arts industry recover and thrive in the age of COVID-19.

Using a risk-based approach, these tools and best practices aim to help performing arts venues prepare for every aspect of putting on a show, from contract negotiation to rehearsal to performance, and everything in between.

The resources are focused around three key actions: auditing, communicating, and adapting.
