How to Create Focus and Flexibility

It's spring, the energy in the world is moving, there's much to do.

You’ve heard multi-tasking is an ineffective way of using your time. Yet, it feels unrealistic to have a single project that you’re focusing on at a time. Unfortunately, have multiple projects on the go can lead to more unfinished projects than you can shake a stick at. Here’s how you can have balance and make progress while not feel stifling your creativity:
  1. Write all the projects you want to do this year. This will be your Master Project List.
  2. Divide your projects into categories that make sense to you. These could be work, home, personal, family. Or mental, emotional, physical and spiritual.
  3. Beside each project note if it has a deadline or is time-sensitive. Due May 30th or Must be complete before Sept 1.
  4. Choose a few projects (2-4) from your master list to focus on for the next 30 days. These will be your Active Projects. You could choose one from each category or all from a single category to make fast headway.
  5. Keep your Active Projects on a separate sheet. Once a current project is complete, you can move a new project from the Master list to Active status.
  6. Below each Active Project write the first task you will do to take action on this project. This task is something you could complete right now and will take less than 25 minutes. Once you complete the first task, write the next task.
Review your project progress in 30 days. At that time reassess and choose what will be the next group of projects to help you stay focused and flexible.

a plan, and not quite enough time."

A good question...

What feels more important right now - focus or flexibility?
