January 2021

Hello, Waynesboro FUMC family.
    Happy New Year!
    The year 2020 has finished, and what a year it was! We have gone through a terrible pandemic, and although things aren't to magically go away just because we are in 2021, there is hope!
    A hope that brings forth in whom we believe. So you see, God is always there for us! Jesus said to his disciples, "I am with you always" (Matt 28:20). This promise is the basis of our hope. It is not a "feel good" pill. The assurance that his presence is with us allows us to see beyond everything that 2020 has been.
    There is still plenty to grow and to look forward to the year 2021. I want to become a better husband for Paty, a better father for my daughters, and a better pastor for Christ's church.
    I am excited about this new year. Let's grasp this hope and make it ours!

PS. I want to invite you to join me in reading the book of Acts during January. We will begin on January the 1st! Let us be refreshed by what the Holy Spirit can do in us!

We are celebrating Holy Communion this coming Sunday, January 3rd, and we will do it as a church family, so we will not have children's church this Sunday.
There are three ways this is going to happen:

  1. In presence (during our worship time)
  2. Drive through the portico (12:00 pm to 12:30 pm, if you are watching online and want to participate)
  3. If you are homebound or cannot drive and are ok with us coming to your home, call us at the church office, and we'll schedule a time with you.

We will start on January the 6th. Come and join us!

Join us for this Bible Study starting January 2021. If you would like a book please contact Cindy!

Reflections of Worship

“And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrhh." Matthew 2:11 KJV

The hymn, What Can I Give Him reads:
What can I give Him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb;
If I were a wise man, I would do my part;
Yet what can I give Him? Give Him my heart.

May we come before the throne of grace, offering open hearts, willing to do the Lord's will and praying for His guidance. Come, let us worship the King!
See you in church.
