Police Respond to Explosion at the Eden Center

Wednesday, January 14, 2015 At 2:30 p.m. City of Falls Church Police responded to the Eden Center Mall (6757 Wilson Blvd.) for an explosion. Arlington and Fairfax County fire departments also reported to the scene. Small fires were extinguished quickly. Three people were transported to local hospitals with non life-threatening injuries. The City of Falls Church Fire Marshall is starting his investigation. Exact cause of the explosion is not yet determined.

The mall portion of the Eden Center is expected to be closed until Thursday, January 15, 2015. More information will be released when available.

Wednesday, January 14, 2015
At 3:30 p.m. Fire and Police Units responded to a report of an explosion at the Eden Center Mall (6757 Wilson Blvd.). Smoke billowing from the front and rear entrances. One person has been transferred to the hospital for injuries. Officials are still on the scene assessing the situation. At this point the event is believed to be accidental. Updates will be made when available.
