Memorial Day Parade and Festival Details

Friday, May 27, 2022 -- The 40th Annual Memorial Day Parade and Festivalis Monday, May 30, from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on the grounds of City Hall (300 Park Ave.).

This family-friendly event has attractions for everyone, including amusement rides, tours of Cherry Hill Farmhouse, inflatables, live music, and over 80 vendor booths featuring local businesses, artisans, civic groups, and food, glorious food. Some surrounding streets will be closed beginning at 5am so be sure to check out parking options and road closures ahead of time. Masks are welcome but not required.

  • 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. -- Festival Hours
  • 9:00 A.M. -- Beyer Auto 3K Fun Run
    • Start line: Great Falls St. at Little Falls St.
    • Free! No registration required! 
    • Rollerblades, scooters and bicycles are not permitted.
  • 9:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. -- Music on the Main Stage
    • Stage located on Park Ave. at Little Falls St. 
    • 9:00 A.M. – DJ Riverside
    • 12:30 P.M. -- City of Falls Church Concert Band
  • 10:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. -- Tours of Cherry Hill Farmhouse
  • 11:00 A.M. - Memorial Day Ceremony at Veterans Memorial
  • 2:00 P.M. -- Parade begins
    • Parade route: Park Ave., between N. West St. & Little Falls St.
    • Led by 2022 Grand Marshal, Chet De Long
    • "Best of" Trophy presentation after the parade

About the Parade

The parade features 52 participating groups, including civic organizations, regional and City government officials, city departments including the Police and Volunteer Fire Departments, dance troupes, marching bands, neighborhood associations, antique vehicles, and more. The parade is led by 2022 Grand Marshal Chet De Long. The parade will be filmed by Falls Church City Cable Television and aired at a later date on Cox channel 11, Verizon channel 35, and RCN channel 2.
