Tuesday, August 12, 2014 -- At its regular Monday night meeting, the City of Falls Church City Council unanimously approved the hiring of Carol McCoskrie as the new City Attorney.
McCoskrie will officially report to work on Monday, September 29, 2014. She replaces John Foster, who left the position in December 2013 after more than five years of service.
"We are so pleased to have Carol as the new City Attorney," said P. David Tarter, Mayor of the City of Falls Church. "She brings years of experience and will be an integral part of The Little City's municipal government."
McCoskrie previously worked for Arlington County as the Assistant County Attorney. During her 24 years with Arlington County, she focused primarily on Land Use and development, as well as providing legal support for the County School Division. Prior to that position, she worked as an Associate for Steele and Fornaciari, a litigation law firm.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Bryn Mawr College and received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Virginia in 1984.
