Guest Artist Workshop
with NZ legend
Richard Parker

One day Workshop

Time is running out to grab one of the last spots in this rare demonstration workshop.

Richard Parker could rightfully be described as a legend of New Zealand’s ceramic community. He is a passionate artist and a dedicated educator. He is visiting Australia as a guest of "Team Kiwi" at the Clay Gulgong 2018 festival in NSW and we have persuaded him to come to Melbourne too!

Whether you are an experienced ceramics practitioner or emerging,  Parker’s bold and innovative melding of hand-construction and wheel-throwing techniques will inspire you!

Saturday 28 April
10am - 4pm
$165 FT potter/SCC or other student
$195 Normal Price

“This workshop would be one I wouldn’t miss. I have known Richard for a number of years and he thinks outside the box. His iconic vases are not thrown, coiled or slab built but cut from a block of clay, giving a fresh bold fluid feeling to them. He is also very engaging.” Greg Daly, March 2018

"The classes have been wonderful, allowing me to develop an understanding and appreciation of the qualities of porcelain. Pilar is encouraging of individual progress and supports ideas with technical advice. The thing I love most about Slow Clay Centre is the wonderful opportunity to work alongside practicing ceramic artists who are so willing to share their knowledge and experience with students." Paula, 27/3/18

"My husband and I did a Friday night 'Taste the Clay' session as a 'date night'. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the class enormously. The instructors were relaxed and warm, sharing insights and laughs in equal measure. Highly recommend this class if you are after a relaxed, fun evening out or are interested in taking a wheel class in the future (I've signed up!). We planned on dinner afterwards and could have done with a change of clothes!" Davena, 22/3/18
