Welcome to this months newsletter!

❄️ What do you love about Winter? ❄️
I do love to sit by the fire with a hot drink, playing cards and listening to some classic tunes (the type you can't help singing along to!). Feeling the chill? Maintaining a daily yoga practice helps to warm and heat us from the inside. Making the time to step on your mat can be more challenging in the colder, darker months, but it's definitely worth the effort! 

This weekend is your opportunity to embrace some HOME PRACTICE! We will be CLOSED this Friday 19th July, Saturday 20th July & Monday 22nd July with classes resuming on Tuesday 23rd of July at 6:30pm. 

Here's some home practice advice:
* Set up your mat in the evening ready for when you jump out of bed.
* Just start where you are! * 5 Minutes of mindful breathing is a great place to begin, add some sun salutations or Motoyama Joint Movements.

Inspired to move on? Be sure to include a twist, forward bend, backward bend, and finish with the inversion of your choice and of course Savasana!

There's lots of exciting events coming up in Spring at Yoga Garage, including Free Your Chi: Yin Yoga WorkshopTherapeutic Soundbath in the Chapel, Down Dogs with Dad: Fathers Day Yoga (details to come), Spring Yoga Retreat at Jura House, and a couple events still on the drawing board too!! Free Your Chi: Spring Yin Yoga Workshop 

🌸 In spring, those aspects of us that have been dormant over the winter months begin to awaken 🌸
🌱Just as nature enters a cycle of renewal, growth and expansion—so does the energy within us 🌱

This 2 hour Yin practice will focus on the Liver and Gallbladder Meridians, which support the body’s natural digestive and detoxification functions.
This practice is all about embracing the opportunity to shed old unwanted layers and making a conscious choice to begin again.
Suitable for all levels
Sunday 15th September, 10am - 12pm @ Nunyara Conference Centre

Activated Chia Berry Pot 

Serves 2 / 4 depending on how hungry you are!

These are one of my all time favourite breakfasts! Just SOO completely delicious, we made them on our recent Winter Yoga Retreat as a desert (see pic above)
6tbsp chia seeds
1 ½ cups almond milk (or milk of choice, I’ve used cow milk and coconut milk too)
¼ cup goji berries
2tbsp shredded coconut (no additives) 
2tbsp sunflower seeds
2tsp maca powder
1 Tlbs maple syrup (or to taste)
¼ tsp vanilla
+ mix all ingredients together in a bowl, store until chia seeds begin to thicken.
+ pour into jars / glasses. Refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight
+ serve with fruit/berries + additional organic yogurt of choice if desired
