Hatcham Society Update

Dear All,

First of all, I hope you are keeping as well as possible during these awful times. The Hatcham Mutual Aid Group alongside the Telegraph Hill group has been incredible during these last couple of months running errands for the most vulnerable and even creating a food box scheme feeding hundreds each week. Their work will not be forgotten. As lockdown eases and more and more people go back to work, both groups will be on the lookout for new volunteers to step in and help out as many people will still be shielding. Email me if you want to join either group.

During lockdown, I updated the Hatcham Conservation Society website and we have a more active Facebook page so please take a look at both and "like" us on Facebook.

Our latest post is about how Sainsbury's ugly fence is due to go before the Planning Inspectorate (spoiler: it was built without planning permission). It falls within the Hatcham Conservation Area and does little to "preserve or enhance" the area. Please respond to the Planning Inspectorate by 1 July 2020 by quoting reference APP/C5690/C/19/3230266 to with your response. You can read the society's response here but please do not copy and paste it for your response as it won't have much weight.

Ruby, a much loved cat who is usually found on Nettleton Road has been missing since May 26! She loves exploring the station end of Hatcham but her owner Nicki is getting increasingly more worried. If you see her, please notify Nicki (07931210698). Her best friend Hamish the Socttie dog is really missing her.

Nicki says: "Ruby has taken her low to town since Tuesday. If she is with you, be warned. She is the cat your mother warned you about. You are just her stepping stone,  her heart is cold, she only loves gold. Please call me if you've seen her)

Thank you for reading (even until the end!) and stay safe.
