Hi <<First Name>>
There's a lot happening in Auckland Curling over the next few weeks. This Sunday we have our club finals, a week later we host the NZ Secondary School champs, followed by the Auckland Mixed Doubles, and finally our 21st Jubilee over Labour Weekend.
21st Jubilee Dinner and Bonspiel
By now you should have received details of our 21st Jubilee Dinner and Bonspiel
over Labour Weekend.
If not, or you've lost the email, it's not too late to register for one or both. The dinner is on the Saturday evening (21st), and the bonspiel on Sunday evening and Monday morning. You can join us for one or both events, and you can enter the bonspiel as an individual; we'll find you a team.
But be quick, the bonspiel can only take 10 teams!
Club Finals and Mixed Doubles
The Auckland Club Championship Finals
take place this Sunday evening, 24 September. Bring your friends, bring your family – and bring a plate of finger food to share!
3rd / 4th playoffs for A and B Divisions get under way at 5:00 pm, and finals in all divisions start at 6:30 pm (note the earlier time).
The Auckland Mixed Doubles Championship
is on two weeks later, on Sunday 8 October. You must register for this (as an individual or a team), and there's a maximum of 15 teams for us to fit it into a single evening.
Teams of 2 men or 2 women are welcome, but only mixed teams are eligible to claim the glory of the Auckland Mixed Doubles title and trophy.
Hundreds of new curlers
So far this year we've introduced over 300 people to curling, and that's outside our usual club and school sessions.
We've had clubs and family groups along on Sunday nights, a few corporate groups on weekdays when Paradice had a spare session, and 80 Intermediate School pupils to celebrate Olympic Day in June. Without exception, they've loved it – and so did we. Here's what the kids thought about Olympic Day:
Now just imagine how much we could share the love if we had dedicated curling ice!
