Dear SDN Insider,

Happy new year SDN Insider Newsletter subscribers. We hope that this message finds you rested and well, prepared to tackle the challenges that lay ahead and excited to embrace the opportunities that await us all in 2021.

In our first newsletter of the year, we have some important updates concerning this year's global conference. Regrettably, we must inform you that we are cancelling our April 2021 in-person conference in Copenhagen. Coming off of our first virtual conference's success in 2020, we are, nevertheless, excited to welcome you this fall to our next online event!

Our Chapters are also in the news— SDN Washington DC is hosting their first SDN DC lunch + learn series, featuring a special guest from one of the leading consultancy firms.

Also, insightful news for those of you considering applying for your SDN Accreditation: That 20% discount we introduced during the holidays has been extended— hooray! Valid until January 20, 2021, we think this offer is the best kind of investment in your future.

It's again time to put on your learning caps, as three new SDN Academy courses are set to kick off and provide you with the kind of deep-dive learning that takes your knowledge to the next level.

Last, but certainly not least, our very own—SDN President Birgit Mager—has won a highly prestigious award for her contribution to service design. As the first professor to take home the Sir Misha Black Award, Birgit continues to demonstrate what a compelling and influential thought leader the service design practice has among its ranks!

Let's make 2021 a good one.

Happy reading.

Service Design Global Conference October 2021
SDGC21 Moves to a Digital Format

After close consultation with our local Danish partners and the global service design community we, at the SDN, have made the difficult decision to cancel the in-person Service Design Global Conference 2021 (SDGC21) previously scheduled to take place in Copenhagen on April 22-23, 2022. Continued travel restrictions and concerns over our community's health and well-being have been the driver of this decision.

Nevertheless, we are excited to announce that we will host a virtual conference on October 21-22, 2021.

Stay tuned for more details in the coming months to ensure you don’t miss out!
