New Arrivals & Pre Orders

Hooveriii - Guillotine - $7.99 -19.99

Never before has a debut single so seamlessly mixed all the best sub-genres of 60 years of rock into such a fantastic crystalline stalactite. If the sounds contained within these grooves could be distilled down to something edible, even the smallest dose would be lethal. Both tracks were recorded and mixed in 6 hours with Mark Rains at Station House in Los Angeles, CA. The A-side is a chugging minimal number with a hooking riff. The song is about cutting your brain in half and letting your fears pour out. The flip is an improvised instrumental jam inspired by Krautrock staples like Can & Amon Düül II.

"Fully committed freak rockers Hooveriii have a new 7″ about to hit atmosphere and here’s the A (for “attack,” or maybe “alien”?) side “Guillotine,” a gnarly mid-tempo piece of pulp sci-fi that’s part Hawkwind—especially when they hit low orbit about three minutes in—and part Chrome and of course part some contemporaries like Ty Segall and thee Oh Sees." - LA Record Premiere

Limited to 200 Black Vinyl and 100 Translucent Purple Vinyls, with very limited Test Pressings also available.

Salt Lick - Doctor (Of Love) - $7.99-14.99

The early 70s were an incredible time for RocknRoll.  Music had lost it’s virginity and abuse of all sorts was running rampant.  Bands were turning up, de-tuning, and dropping out left and right.  Bad trips and other people’s battles were bumming everybody out and the discontent was palpable.  These vibes are what informed Salt Lick’s first recordings.  Informed and influenced by the Motor City scene as much as the boneheaded side of the American underground, Salt Lick recorded these two crunchy tunes in one short late-night session in a seedy LA neighborhood.  Bargain basement beer flowed like wine and you can almost hear the pull-tabs being popped over the hiss of the tape machine.  The men of Salt Lick came together over a collective disdain of the castrated rock they’d been hearing and wanted to toughen things up a bit, all while keeping it groovy.  “If the ladies ain’t having a good time, no one is.”, one member recalls thinking.  This 45 was pressed in a limited quantity of 300 copies, 100 of which on coke-bottle clear vinyl.  No picture sleeve necessary.  Everything you need to see is on the label.  Recorded by Hunter Scztroop and Erik Lake at Black Diamond.  Mastered by Jorge Explosion at Circo Perrotti Studios in Gijón, Spain.

Recommended if you like:  Brown Acid, Acid Nightmares, regular Acid, The Stooges, MC5, Leaf Hound, Jerusalem, Josefus, Blues Creation, Sir Lord Baltimore, Grand Funk, Floating Bridge, Les Variations, and the one good song on a bunch of major label LPs from the early 70s

Over-Gain Optimal Death - More Hearing - $7.99

“More Hearing” is the first studio album by Over-Gain Optimal Death,  aka OGOD.  Having been LA’s reclusive noise acid punk trio for nearly a decade, they deliver with this album what will be to some the answer to their prayers for truly heavy headed dead-serious psychedelic punk.

Having toured the US with Acid Mothers Temple may give an idea to their volume levels and appropriate band comparisons.  Japanese Psychedelic Underground influences a la High Rise, Mainliner, and Les Rallizes Denudes are present as usual to their previous self-releases.   Yet, “More Hearing”, brings their sound to other landmarks of their influence, harnessing Stooges grooves and Motorhead drive with fierce vocals belting bleak lyrics more confidently and more powerful that anything to date.  Moments of Raw Punk and Proto Punk flicker in and out with the new addition of drummer Aeon's hardcore battery bound together tightly by Adieu’s ultra-repetative fuzz bass.   Written by singer and guitarist, Jasso, OGOD's "More Hearing" finds the band at it's most in control of it's power.  Jasso’s love of blown out distorto music has even laid way to several live and recorded collaborations with Acid Mothers and Mainliner’s Kawabata Makoto, and even recently forming and touring with a new power trio with High Rise guitarist Munehiro Narita’s new Psychedelic Speedfreaks.

“More Hearing” is beautifully packaged in a black zen like package, fitting neatly next to your PSF Records collection.  This black monolith of a cassette holds some of the fiercest music of the Dark Psychedelic genre.

Fans of: Stooges, Motorhead, Hawkwind, High Rise, Mainliner, Mayyors, Puffy Areolas, Destruction Unit, Discharge, Kuro, Shitlickers

Check out some of the stellar reviews Brown Acid the Sixth Trip have been acquiring:

"...they’ve unearthed some unheard gems that are the equal to the big ticket likes of Sabbath, The Stooges and Hawkwind."
Paste Magazine

"Last month, we ran a feature on our forty favourite genre compilation albums of all time. Among stiff competition from the likes of Soul Jazz, Awesome Tapes From Africa and more, The Brown Acid series still stands out as one of the best."

"These collections bring together some of the best obscure heavy music of that time period. It was a time when the dream of the sixties was dying, giving way to something darker and heavier. The Brown Acid series does for this type of music, what Nuggets and Pebbles did for sixties garage rock. (In fact, Nuggets curator and Patti Smith guitarist, Lenny Kaye, is a fan of these albums. That should tell you something.)"
