Des Moines, Iowa – Liberty Iowa PAC began the final month before the Republican primary elections with a blitz of endorsements in legislative races around the state.   The newly-formed political action committee hopes to harness the recent surge of activism by Constitutional conservatives, who have quickly become a leading voice in the Republican Party of Iowa.  Nine candidates for state House and four candidates for state Senate were included in the list, which was released Tuesday morning.
David Scott Edwards – Senate District 16
Jeff Mullen – Senate District 22
Randi Shannon – Senate District 34
Will Johnson – Senate District 50
Kevin Wolfswinkel – House District 1
Josh Davenport – House District 2
Tom Shaw – House District 10
Jason Schultz – House District 18
Steve McCoy – House  District 26
Joe Corbin – House District 32
Tony Seliquini – House District 36
Matt DeVries – House District 37
Jake Highfill – House District 39
While not all of the candidates face a primary challenge, the endorsements could prove a major factor in contested districts like House District 37, where no less than 6 Republican candidates are competing for the chance to represent the newly-drawn district.  Matt DeVries, Liberty Iowa’s choice in the HD37 race, released the following statement in accepting the endorsement, “I am so grateful to the like-minded individuals who have bound together to form Liberty Iowa, a PAC that is not built about profit incentives or special interests, but around the idea that liberty is worth organizing and fighting for. “
Adil Khan, LIPAC’s Executive Director, said that the support of the Liberty Movement in Iowa will help conservatives keep up the fight for limited government in the legislature.  "In the coming weeks, Liberty Iowa will devote significant resources to ensuring that our candidates are successful in their respective primary bids,” said Khan. “From activating our extensive network of grassroots volunteers to targeted mailings, each of these candidates will have the full backing of our organization.”

Liberty Iowa will host a meet-and-greet with their newly-endorsed candidates at the Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition’s Spring Kick-Off event this Friday, May 11th , in Waukee. U.S. Senator Rand Paul, the featured speaker for the event, is widely recognized as a leader of the national Liberty Movement.
