Stonegate CHC Community News February 2014

Important Dates for the Stonegate Plaza
Stonegate Community Health Centre is pleased to confirm that we will be staying where we have been for the past 22 years despite the redevelopment of the plaza.  Most of the building will be torn down around us, but we will stay right here.  We know that Stonegate CHC is exactly where it needs to be to serve this community and we plan to be a part of the future development of this site.  The long-term plan is to relocate Stonegate CHC to the second floor of the future new grocery store.

Stonegate Plaza is changing very quickly.  It is very sad to see businesses closing and relocating after decades of serving this community.  We recognize that the loss of a grocery store, pharmacy and other services will be very significant for this community.  We are also concerned about the loss of jobs that will result.

A complete list of store closure dates in the Plaza are as follows:

Stonegate Pharmacy                          Closed January 9th
(relocated to Shopper's Drug Mart, 125 The Queensway, 416-766-6196)

Outreach Store                                 Closing January 31st (relocation not yet set)

Stonegate Toy & Gift                         Closing January 31st

Salon Moda                                       Closing January 31st
(relocating to Cinelli Hair, 2376 Bloor Street West, 416-769-2224)

ValuMart                                           Closing February 1st

Bargin Store                                      Very soon

Polish Market                                     Closing February 28th

VanDyk has published information on their website regarding a tentative schedule and workplan for the development. Please visit:  http://blog.vandyk.com/tentative-schedule-workplan/ for this information.
Pharmacy Update
The Pharmacy and their staff has been re-located to the Shopper’s Drug Mart at the plaza on 125 The Queensway, just west of Stephen Drive.

You can still call the Stonegate Community Pharmacy at it’s old number of 416-239-8477, and be re-directed to the Shopper’s Drug Mart phone line, and get assistance from the same pharmacist and his team as you did here at Stonegate Plaza.

Home deliveries for prescriptions will be done from Monday to Friday, once a day between 1pm-4pm, FREE OF CHARGE (uninsured prescription medication costs are to be paid, but there is no charge for delivery). There is a $5 charge for deliveries of that consist of only over the counter medications.
