Annual General Meeting
Stonegate CHC's Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday, June 20th at noon. This will be an opportunity for the community to meet the architect that we have chosen to help us design our new Community Health Centre. Charles Rosenberg of Hilditch Architects will present some of the similar building projects that his firm has completed. It will be an opportunity for the community to talk about what they want to see in our new Centre and help shape the design.
The AGM will take place in our newly redesigned Program Room at 150 Berry Road in the lower level. Light refreshments will follow the meeting.
We will also be providing tours of the Centre so that everyone can see how we have redeveloped our Centre in the aftermath of the flooding damage we experienced last fall.
Everyone is welcome!
Stonegate CHC New Staff
Stonegate CHC welcomes two new staff on board!
Jennifer Chung Lim joins Stonegate as our new Physiotherapist. This position was created as part of a recent funding initiative by the Toronto Central LHIN, which resulted in a new network of physiotherapists across CHCs in Toronto. Jennifer’s position is shared between Stonegate CHC, the Parkdale CHC, the Central Toronto CHC and the Village FHT. We are thrilled to have her at Stonegate on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Because the demand for physiotherapy is high, as we roll out this new program, we will prioritize clients who have a primary care provider here at Stonegate CHC and who do not have private health insurance. Jennifer’s areas of focus include orthopedic and neurological cases and working with clients who have COPD, are obese or at risk for falls. Later on, we hope to expand her role to include group programming and outreach to community members who do not have primary care at Stonegate. Jennifer has recently moved to Toronto from Quebec, so not only is she new to Stonegate but is new to our community as well. Please help us make her feel welcome!
Ron Lally will be working with us in the position of Client Support Worker. Many of you will already know Ron; he has been completing his Field Practicum with our centre since September 2014. Ron has a para-legal background and has recently graduated from the Sheridan College Social Service Program. In his role as Client Support Worker he will be available to provide client support with the following:
- housing services, advocacy, case management, information and referral
- intake and case management to individuals, families and groups
- assistance in completing forms
- planning and implementing workshops with guest speakers on topics related to housing, homelessness, income security, tenant’s rights/responsibilities, employment and settlement
- organizing Income Tax clinics.
You will soon hear details of an open house where we can welcome all our clients back to our restored and reconfigured CHC.

Stonegate CHC has selected the architect who will work with us to design our future home. Hilditch Architects was awarded the contract after reviewing the ten proposals that were submitted in reply to our call for proposals. Hilditch Architects is a Toronto firm that specializes in developing buildings to serve communities. They have been involved in designing several Community Health Centres and other community services.
Charles Rosenberg, one of the firm's architects will be attending our AGM (on June 20th) and presenting some of the work his firm has completed. ESS Exercise Program at Stonegate CHC
Each Tuesday morning in the program room at the Health Centre, adults 55 years and older can be seen exercising to the sounds of the Beatles. The fitness program is facilitated in partnership with the Etobicoke Seniors Services and Stonegate Community Health Centre.
The program is led by a certified instructor and provides a safe and fun environment to become more active and connect with other members from the community.
