ISSUE #85
So Summer is upon us and another year is almost over! It has been a challenging year for many and it looks like 2016 will bring with it a new set of challenges. Apparently the City of Cape Town will be imposing level 2 water restriction from 1 January in an effort to reduce water usage by 20%. This means that watering of gardens will be restricted to before 6am and after 6 pm, all hoses should have a shut off nozzle and tariffs may increase among other things. The CoCT has been proactive and has lots of information on their webpage, go to www.capetown.gov.za/water for more info.
The Cape Green Trade Day is once again on the move! For February 2016 our exciting new venue is just around the corner from the Grand Arena, in the Sun Exhibits exhibition hall. Please see below for more info.
We are planning a day tour to the Paarl region on 23 March 2016. We'll see waste being turned to compost at Reliance, lunch under the tree, onto Just Trees for a guided tour and then hopefully an interesting nursery or garden on the way back....any suggestions?
Cape Green Forum membership falls due at the beginning of the year. Membership for 2016 is R550 for individuals and R1970 for companies per year, a worthwhile investment that keeps you abreast and involved with industry happenings in the Cape.
Our best wishes go to 2 of our members - Elize Potgieter of Just Trees and Amanda Pretorius of Nonke, you are both in our thoughts.
Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and happy holidays. Look forward to seeing you all in 2016, re-energized and ready for another year.

PANTONE 2016 COLOURS, HINT OF CALM
Pantone’s Top 10 colors for spring are meant to ease the daily grind. There’s a psychological reason for that, according to Pantone Color Institute executive director Leatrice Eiseman.
“The fact that technology has gotten so overwhelming and so 24/7 has really created a great part of the need for these comforting, softer colors. Technology plays a huge part in people feeling like they want to stop the world and get off,” she said. “At the same time, we can’t deny that global doors are opening — as in Cuba and other south-of-the-border places.” ...... see more
