Hello Eagle Scouts,
Welcome and glad tidings to one and all. Spring has sprung and so has a full program of Scouting activities and events. This weekend is the annual Scout Fair at El Capitan High School in Lakeside. The latest report is that help is still in demand for setting up everything from booths, to the Pine Wood Derby. Please join us at the Scout Fair and help make the Fair another Scouting memory to remember.
The Eagle Recognition Dinner is also happening this month on April 30, 2019 at St. Michael’s in Poway. Please register as an Eagle mentor for the dinner. This dinner has ALWAYS held a special place for me. You can just feel the good will and Scouting spirit at its highest levels during this dinner. There is a saying that the best way to enjoy today is by taking care of tomorrow. I can say firsthand that you will experience a warm sense pride and confidence knowing that tomorrow is in good hands when you witness the assembly of Eagles at this dinner and hear their stories. It is an experience where you get more than you give.
Also, on April 30th
is the deadline for submitting Applications for the Belcher Eagle, and William Doole Eagle Scholarships. Applications for both scholarships need to be received at Council headquarters no later than April 30th
. Please spread the word to potential Applicants. I am confident we have many worthy candidates and would like to make sure they don’t miss out on the opportunity to apply for these very helpful scholarships.
If you love San Diego then you most certainly love a clean San Diego. On April 27th
we are proudly participating in the I Love A Clean San Diego Creek to Bay clean up. Our own board member David Smith is a co site captain with yours truly at the Camp Balboa clean up site. It is well documented that most of the trash in our oceans starts in creek and river beds. If you haven’t noticed Camp Balboa sits right on a ravine leading directly into San Diego Bay and the Pacific Ocean. At least it was a water laden ravine before it was turned into Route 163. When it rains as it has this past winter it all flows downhill to the ocean. Please join us for the cleanup at Camp Balboa. You can learn more about the cleanup at Camp Balboa and other locations throughout San Diego on both the Council website and newsletter.
If these activities are not enough for you in one month then give me a call and I know I can find something more for you to do.
Until next remember to do a good turn daily.

The purpose of the San Diego - Imperial Council Eagle Scout Alumni Association (ESAA) is to support and enlarge the success of the Boy Scout movement and build fellowship among adult Eagles in San Diego and Imperial Counties. The ESAA achieves this purpose, by recruiting as many adult Eagle Scouts as possible to become Scouting volunteers, by supporting activities within the Council that promote the Scouts' advancement along the Trail to Eagle and by giving recognition to the young men who earn the rank of Eagle Scout.
