New Kidney Car website

We’ve just launched a new mobile-friendly Kidney Car website to make it easier than ever to donate a vehicle through this program. The site features some easy-to-use features, such as address auto completion, to make it fast and simple. Donors may also choose to complete an online form to expedite the process. If you have an unwanted vehicle in your driveway or garage that you need to remove, visit the new Kidney Car website today!

Thank you for amazing contributions to Kidney Walk and Kidney March

The Kidney Foundation of Canada wishes to thank all participants, volunteers and donors from across Canada who participated in one of the many Kidney Walks from coast to coast or tackled the 100-km challenge of the Kidney March in Alberta. Many individual and team goals were met or exceeded and we congratulate everyone who took part by raising funds and awareness.

The Walks are the largest collective community fundraising events in Canada dedicated to raising funds for innovative research, vital programs, and services that support people living with kidney disease. Every year, the Walks and March bring together over 15,000 patients, family members, caregivers, medical professionals and volunteers.

If you missed making a contribution, it’s not too late as you can still contribute online at www.kidneywalk.ca. You can also look for details on your community success and see photos of our walks! In the fight against kidney disease, every kilometer counts.

Conquering One Mountain at a Time

Ken Litchfield isn’t one to shrink from a challenge: this former project safety manager at Shell Canada has been fighting kidney disease since 2009. It didn’t stop him from climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya in 2010 and from participating for three years in Kidney March – a 100-km walk through the foothills of Alberta, raising funds and awareness for kidney disease and organ donation.

We invite you to meet Ken Litchfield and read his story.

KITCHEN

Roasted Red Pepper Soup with Garlic Croutons

This soup is so comforting on cold autumn days and is a great way to use up all those harvest peppers.

Almond Meringue Cookies

This recipe will help you satisfy your nut craving without the nuts! The almond extract or maple extract are a great way to get the flavour without the potassium or phosphorus.
