Kidney Walk: Time to Lace Up!

The Kidney Foundation Walks are the largest community fundraising events in Canada dedicated to raising funds for innovative research, vital programs, and services that support people living with kidney disease. Every year, the walk brings over 15,000 patients, family members, caregivers, medical professionals and volunteers together to raise awareness and funds for those affected.

Our walk events are held in some provinces in the spring and continue throughout the fall months in others. Visit www.kidneywalk.ca to find information about walk locations, see our progress towards achieving our Canada-wide fundraising goal, read walkers’ testimonials and see photos of our walks.

Kidney Walks will take place in September in the following provinces: And remember: in the fight against kidney disease every kilometer counts.

Cycling for the Cause

Éric Chandonnet is a bodyguard with Quebec’s Ministry of Public Security. He is a strong, active and down-to-earth man. In 2010, he incidentally found out that he was suffering from kidney disease. His world collapsed: he was terrified by the consequences the disease would have on his health, but was even more devastated by the impact it could have on his wife and two sons.

But he wouldn’t give up without a fight: “I realized I had do something to spread awareness of the disease and boost organ donation.”

In 2011, he created Le Tour de Rein, a tremendous cycling event that gathers about 100 participants for an 80-km ride in the Montreal area. We invite you to meet Eric Chandonnet and read his story.

Meet the 2017 Kidney Foundation Recognition Programs Awardees

The Kidney Foundation of Canada has a comprehensive Recognition Program in place to honor volunteers, staff, individuals, researchers, groups and organizations across the country for their exceptional work on behalf of the Foundation.

The names of the 2017 recipients have been unveiled recently, and we invite you to visit our website to meet them and find out how they’re involved with the Foundation.

Volunteers are involved at all levels of the Foundation, and we are fully aware that our work could not be accomplished without their generosity. There always are some opportunities if you have a little time to spare and want to help. Click here to learn more about volunteering with us.
