Happy Holidays & Happy New Year! We have so much to be grateful for.
Dear CLAM Friends,
Last Thursday Dec. 19 was an amazing and heartful day as so many of us gathered to celebrate the completion of the the County's purchase of the Coast Guard property in Pt. Reyes Station. A few had misty eyes, but all had smiles as Supervisor Dennis Rodoni accepted the symbolic key that marked the transfer of ownership, and the beginning of a new chapter.
This celebration was beautifully timed to honor those who have worked so long and diligently to bring this dream to reality, to celebrate the possibilities of rehabilitating housing that will be affordable to our community, and to swing into the holiday season with gratitude and hope.
Socorro Romo and Marshall Livingston carry the banner of thanks and vases of flowers for the County (Dennis Rodoni) and Congressman Jared Huffman (Jenny Callaway). Kim Thompson is at far left and Mark Switzer is at the podium.
All of us at CLAM join our community members and organizations in a giant THANK YOU!
If you were not able to attend the event, we have a number of photos (thank you Carlos Porrata!) on our Facebook, please take a look! Mark Switzer led the assembled in a charming Pt. Reyes singalong version of This Land is Our Land, which you can hear here.(thank you David Morris!)
We at CLAM are working on our bid to submit to the County in January to develop the Coast Guard project (more on that in the new year) but for the moment, we're thrilled and filled with gratitude that the property is now in County ownership.
Thank you and happiest of holidays to you and your loved ones. May our new year bring light and peace to all.
