Diverse Educators
Be where you are celebrated, not tolerated.
We were excited for our website to go live on September 1st in time for the new academic year. A massive thank you to Blue Hall for our bold new branding and Richard Robinson for our snazzy new site. The site would not be possible without our partners’ support - a massive thank you to our partners:  Leeds Beckett University, Lyfta and teaglo for their support of our collective work.

Our Collaborations

We are delighted to be able to signpost the diversity, equity and inclusion work by 50+ organisations in education and beyond. We have 10 more submissions to add this month. Please do share the site with individuals and organisations working in this space so we can feature them too.

If you are new to blogging then check out the #DailyWritingChallenge that went on during lockdown and the new #MonthlyWritingChallenge as a way to find and use your voice.

Lyfta logo

Lyfta is a multi-award-winning virtual teaching tool designed in Finland and the UK. It is a unique and powerful resource to help teachers nurture resilience, empathy and global citizenship through meaningful and inspiring human stories from across the world. The platform delivers a series of interactive and immersive 360-degree story-worlds containing carefully selected films, with over 150 adaptable lessons and assembly plans to support these. We have developed a helpful quest tracker function that supports flexible whole-class or independent/remote learning through a set of interactive questions and challenges. Lyfta is ideal for teaching literacy, PSHE, geography and citizenship amongst many other subjects, as well as a large range of values and skills such as empathy, resilience and critical thinking. We believe that expanding children’s horizons and giving them access to a world beyond their immediate environment is more important than ever.

It has become something of a cliché to talk about the fast-changing, uncertain and unprecedented times we are all now living in. The Covid-19 pandemic highlighted many things about the current state and future of humanity. For example, it highlighted human vulnerability and interconnectedness, and the diversity of human experience when faced by a similar global challenge. At Lyfta we want to help those who value human diversity, who see the value in helping foster empathy and compassion in order to better understand difference and interconnectedness at a local and global level. We know that this task is not easy, and this is why we have created a set of resources that facilitate human encounters which we might not otherwise get the chance to have. We also take the mission to create a more just and sustainable world very seriously which is why we have embedded the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in our teaching resources.

Teachers from state-funded schools can try Lyfta for free.

Staff from state-funded schools in England and Scotland can try Lyfta for free for a term, once they complete our free CPD course, Teach Skills, Values and SDGs with Lyfta, which is certified by the British Council. For more information or to book a free CPD course, please visit
