It's been quite some time since I sent out an email, newsletter or any correspondence.
As many of you know, I am an avid cyclist.Last year was a great year, mostly.
Did two MS150 rides, did the Hotter than Hell 100, for the first time and likely last for years, and did 100 miles in under 5 hours. That is >20MPH average, my best recorded time for a century ever.
(The reason I don't get to do HHH100 is it is usually on the same weekend as SWAT)
The, after finishing the Oklahoma MS150, and up in Portland on business, October 2nd I was admitted to the hospital (in Oregon) for lower leg paralysis. Actuality, I hit the alarm clock, stood up and fell down. Both legs where paralyzed.
Anyway, long story short, Neuroinvasive West Nile Virus with encephalitis and meningitis and paralysis. This is an extremely rare version of a not as rare as you thing disease. So, 48 days in the hospital, and now I am in therapy or the gym 5 days a week trying to walk again. Will I? If you ask me, yes. If you ask medical professionals, no one is placing bets. Thankfully, in either directions.

So the business was pretty much shutdown for a couple weeks while I was in the hospital in Oregon, and my wife was at my bedside. And you the customers understood and where there for me.

And for that, I am forever grateful, thanks!

As many of you know, I am a big supporter of the MS150 program. TURNINGWOOD.com is a sponsor for the team (Plano Cycling and fitness) and I personally raise donations and ride the ride.
This year is a little different because it is unlikely I can ride, but I am still going to sponsor the team, and I am still raising money to help wipe out MS.

Can you help? You can donate HERE!

In addition, TURNINGWOOD.com will donate %10 of sales from January 2016 through April 2016 to MS150

I'm always about the fun

I try to use my sense of humor to elevate me above the daily grind, and in this case the grind of getting through Rehab and the gym to get out of a wheelchair. To that end, if you are a Facebook user, I post my socks most days to blog about the process. You can follow it here
