Conference on insuring agricultural production
18th December 2012, Paris
Insurance systems have been set up in about a hundred countries to secure farmers’ incomes and provide them with easier access to credit. However their costs, effectiveness and impacts are debated. This conference will investigate how agricultural insurance can contribute to strengthening food security and reducing poverty. Register before the 25th November for free entrance.

Deadline for fellowship opportunities is the 30th November
Three fellowships are available in Burkina Faso, Haiti and South Africa. The fellowships provide an opportunity for hands-on experience in microinsurance, while also building the capacity of the host organization. Find out more and apply before the 30th November.

The Facility was launched in 2008 with generous support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to learn and promote how to extend better insurance to the working poor. Additional funding has gratefully been received from several donors, including the Z Zurich Foundation and AusAID.
