The CTLO has been busy working with TAs in a variety of ways this year. Contact us at (626) 395-8427 on how we can help you with your ideas.
Educational Outreach Opportunities:
Spring is Science Fair Season and we are recruiting volunteer judges for a number of competitions, from local elementary school efforts to the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair. Contact Mitch Aiken (626-395- 4641) for more information.
Individual Consultations:
We can work with you individually on all aspects of being a TA, such as implementing effective teaching strategies and grading practices; conducting classroom observations and video recording with feedback; and creating and administering mid-quarter or end-of-quarter student surveys and analyzing the results.
Group Consultations:
We also work with Head TAs and groups of TAs to improve efficiency for a course. This can include CTLO-facilitated TA meetings, microteaching opportunities with feedback, effective grading practices within a group of TAs, and more.
