I recently reported on the latest start-up delays of the new AP1000 reactor at Vogtle 3.

Now the NRC is getting involved.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports: "U.S. nuclear regulators have launched an extra review into problems with the installation of crucial electrical cable systems at the Plant Vogtle expansion and how Southern Company responded to those issues."

According to the NRC's own short release, "The NRC inspection team will focus on the electrical cable raceway system, consisting primarily of conduits and cable trays designed to route and support the cables needed to ensure safety-related equipment is powered to perform its safety functions."
