Some California Republicans have put forward a bill to save Diablo Canyon from shutting down in 2025 and 2026.

The article is here:

Article - California Republicans Debut Bill to Save Diablo Canyon

This will be a test to see if attitudes have changed much towards nuclear.

Other articles are being written about California's rolling blackouts. The strain on the grid will undoubtedly increase once Diablo closes.

Grid operators have even asked electric car owners to charge their vehicles in off-peak hours to relieve the strain on the grid.

The state has increased its solar capacity, but obviously that is a problem at night. That's a problem TerraPower's Natrium reactor is designed to mitigate--it stores energy in its molten-salt tanks to kick in and act as a balance for solar power when the sun's down. It's more efficient than traditional battery technology.
