Maggie is known for telling stories while everyone holds plank in her group classes.  She likes to think this makes plank more bearable. Since we have been in quarantine she has been sharing a Plank Story on Facebook every week day.  If you need a pick me up, all these tales are sentimental, sweet, amusing, and relatable.  We hope they will make you smile.  You don’t even have to hold plank while you listen, you can just enjoy the good story.  You can find Maggie’s plank stories on Facebook at Personal Euphoria. Follow Personal Euphoria to ensure you don’t miss one of them!

Or sign up for one of her Pilates classes where you will always get a plank story (or try a class with one of the other Personal Euphoria instructors).

Need other good news?

Maggie isn’t the only one trying to bring you a moment of joy.  There are other resources out there sending positive vibes.  If you have not watched John Krasinski’s Some Good News on Youtube, you are missing out on a smile (and occasionally a happy tear in your eye).  Maggie always jokes about her love for Jeff Goldblum… but move over Jeff… right now John is on a pretty high pedestal.  He already has over 2 million subscribers to Some Good News, so not quite as many people who have watched Maggie Swim in Jell-O, but a good start.

If you’re just looking for a good laugh, this woman made a comedic video about explaining the present situation to her former self.  It lets us all laugh a little at our current situation.  In local good news, some West Hartford neighbors got together to sing One Day More from Les Mis from their porches.

We by no means want to diminish the struggle of this situation or what anyone is going through, but we strongly believe that laughter is good for our spirit.  So, if any of these provide you a boost in spirits or a little pick-me-up that is our goal.  When times are tough, we look for ways to laugh and bring joy to each other.  At Personal Euphoria we normally do that with movement, but stories about our shared humanity can do the trick too.

There are so many people who have stepped up and are deserving of kudos, but as a thank you to our local healthcare workers we wanted to help keep them moving.  It can be very easy to care for others and lose track of caring for your own health.  We are currently allowing any healthcare workers at Hartford Hospital and St. Francis in Hartford to take our online streaming classes for free (town classes excluded).

If you know someone who works at one of those locations (or if you know another local healthcare worker who would greatly benefit), email Helen at and we will help them gain access.

If we have a lot of interest, we may have to limit this going forward, but for now, we’d rather those individuals know they have a way to KEEP MOVING!
