Welcome to the very first issue of my SewAmazin newsletter! You are receiving this because you either signed up for my mailing list or you have purchased something from me in the past year, through one of my shops or through email contact.

About The Pesties:
Many of the items I create are inspired by my two terriers, who I affectionately call my Pesties: Keli, our Westie and Penny, our Wauzer (a Westie/Schnauzer mix). Penny is our rescue girl, and she joined our pack as a puppy; her first owners left her at the county shelter for barking too much! She still barks too much, but now she’s also my favorite bandana model!
Penny inspired us to help other shelter pets, so we donate a portion of the sales of pet-related items in my shops to animal rescue. Currently, we support
WestieMed, whose mission is to help rescued Westies in need of medical care so they can be adopted, and
Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc. (RBARI), our local no-kill shelter that cares for both cats and dogs of all breeds, including seniors and special needs pets, until they find their forever home. We try to send a payment to each organization at least once every few months.
In March, Keli celebrated her 10th birthday and we decided to paw-ty all month long! For every item purchased in my SewAmazin shops during March, we donated an
extra 5% to WestieMed and RBARI.
We were thrilled to send $56.00 to WestieMed and $28.00 to RBARI for the first 3 months of 2012; a little more than $18.00 was specifically for Keli’s birthday.
A great big THANK YOU goes out to all our friends who shopped with us for Keli’s Birthday!
Penny is already making plans for her 5th birthday paw-ty in September.
New Summer Products:
In April, I was scheduled to participate in my first street fair.
Unfortunately, it was rained out and has not yet been rescheduled.
The good news is that everything I made for the street fair is now listed in my ArtFire shop and ready to ship! This includes new
Patriotic Pup Scrunchie Neck Ruffles,
Over-the-Collar Bandanas, and
Insulated Water Bottle Carriers.
Over-the-Collar Bandanas are available in a variety of fun summer and patriotic prints! They come in 5 sizes ranging from XS to XL, and each one is reversible. This style is similar to
Bandana-style Collar Slipcovers because it is worn over your pet’s existing collar, but differs because it does not cover the entire collar. It’s also designed with a shorter point that does not dip into your pet’s food or water bowl.
Looking ahead to summer, I’m working on several new
Insulated Water Bottle Carrier designs. Already listed is the Shoe Diva:
A new Westies Rule design will be available in mid-June.
I began making these bottle carriers a couple of years ago for family and friends, tailoring the designs to reflect each person’s interests. If you’d like to suggest a design theme for a bottle carrier, please send me an email.
Shop News:
Recently, ArtFire added several new features for shoppers. One is an instant discount for leaving a comment on an item and optionally sharing it on Facebook (available in participating shops only). Comments are moderated, so they may not appear right away, but the discount for the item commented on is available immediately and is valid for a limited amount of time. These discounts can be combined with coupon codes, too!

More Shop News: I’ve recently added a Payvment store to my
Facebook page, so I now have shops on multiple e-commerce venues! Each marketplace has different features and requirements, and I like to be sure they function as expected before adding more than a few items for sale. My primary shop is on
ArtFire and I generally add new items to this shop first. You can also find me on
Etsy, though only a few items are currently available. Over the summer I plan to add more selections to both Etsy and Payvment shops.

Calendar:
July 1- 15: Vacation - I’m planning some down time for the first 2 weeks of July, to work on some personal projects. My shops won’t be officially closed, so orders for ready-to-ship items will be sent out, but anything made to order may not be ready to be shipped until the end of July.
August 19: Plans are underway for us to participate at a street fair in August. Details will be in the next newsletter.
September: Get ready for Penny’s 5th Birthday Paw-ty – we’ll be donating an extra 5% of all sales to our friends at WestieMed and RBARI
