Spring Newsletter

Welcome to Bia Sásta

As the name already suggest, this is all about happy food in all its form, colour and tastes. We will be organizing events throughout the year as well as cooking and baking classes. Your name is on the list because you either have signed up yourself (thanks for that), or I have come across your email from one of the events I have organized for Slowfood Cork City throughout the years (I have not copied the Slowfood mailing list but my private one). Please feel free to recommend Bia Sásta to your friends - the more the merrier. Forwarding this newsletter is also ok but it might happen that the provider I am using is disconnecting you from the list, which means you will have to sign up yourself again. The easiest way to recommend Bia Sásta is to send anyone interested to our website (click on the logo above or go to http://biasasta.blogspot.com) where anyone can subscribe to this newsletter. It is also easy to get off this list, just click on the link at the bottom of this newsletter and you will be automatically un-subscribed (but we would miss you).

We also have monthly competitions - Like us on Facebook and you could become Fan of the Month. Each month we have different give-aways.

This newsletter will be send out regularly with short updates on upcoming events in between. The main newsletter will contain details of events & classes, recipes, food news etc. Please email me on biasasta@hotmail.com if you have suggestions on what you like to see in a newsletter.

And with no further delay - see below upcoming events @ Bia Sásta

Keep smiling

Elke

Breadmaking @ The Cottage

We are holding regular breadmaking classes @ The Cottage in Grenagh. On 3 nights you will learn the basics and beyond to bake fabulous bread.

On the first night you will learn all about the most basic breads - no yeast involved. You will be surprised how easy & simple breadmaking is and that no yeast is needed.

On the 2nd night, you will learn all about yeast. I will show you the different types of yeast and how to make quick and easy breads - easier than you think.

Last but not least, on the 3rd night we will be meeting the king of breads - The Sourdough. Not to worry, this also is easier than you think

Price per night €10 per person. Pay all three classes on the first night for €25

Blind Tasting in Fenn's Quay

Experience a new way of dining - enjoy with your senses but not your eyes. You will be served several courses which you will have to try while blindfolded. We have done this previous with Augustine's and it was a great success. This time around we have partnered up with Fenn's Quay where head chef Kate Lawlor will create a tasting menu from local produce to entice your taste buds. We will be discussing the food in between the courses to see who got it right (it is not as easy as you might think).

Price per head is €30 and a glass of wine is included. The number is limited so booking is essential as we might have to turn you away if you come on the night and have not booked.
