UPDATE  |  25 MARCH 2020
Update from Ben Adams, General Manager, Suncoast Gold Macadamias

Factory Operations

Suncoast Gold is a food business and all the information I am receiving from regulatory bodies is our operations will be largely unaffected so long as we follow the respective guidelines.
Agricultural products, and the associated supply chains (even across state boarders), are classed as essential.
We put in place our Emergency Preparedness and Business Continuance Plans last week and this is updated as new information comes to hand.  At this stage we have implemented the necessary measures for social distancing and hygiene for all staff, contractors and freight companies. We have taken the additional step of isolating the NIS lab/receival group from the rest of the business so that minimal, if any, disruption occurs to NIS receivals.
Our main function as of today is maintaining our ability to receive, assay, dry and store the 2020 crop of Nut in Shell.  I remain confident we have adequate resources and staff members to complete this task along with the required administration and payments.

Site access and NIS deliveries

In line with Government health recommendations and for the safety of staff, suppliers, contractors and the community we will be enforcing rules around site access and NIS deliveries.
  • Please do not enter site if you are unwell
  • Arrive on time at your booked timeslot, this will help minimise the number of people on site at any given time
  • After signing in please remain in your vehicle as much as practically possible during NIS deliveries
  • Observe the appropriate social distancing with staff
  • Make use of all personal protection equipment and hand sanitation as provided
Our Office remains restricted to essential activities only, the shop is closed and the office is closed to visitors
  • Please call ahead on 07 5482 0000 if you need to speak to any of the Suncoast Gold Team
Standard Opening Hours for NIS deliveries remain unchanged and we have already received in over 400t of NIS from the 2020 crop.
  • We are open for receivals of NIS 7am to 3pm Monday – Friday
  • Bookings are essential
  • For Bookings contact Rob 0427 646 939 or email
  • Please contact us if you need to deliver outside these hours
If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact us.

Market Update

Green and Gold marketing is also fully operational and adhering to the required guidelines for social distancing and hygiene for all staff. The Green and Gold China office has re-opened and demand is continuing to regain momentum in that major market.

As you can appreciate the value of kernel must keep pace with the farm gate price and the group has made every effort to maximise sales price in a very difficult environment.

Some assistance has been generated from the weakening of the Australian dollar for those export markets which trade in USD.

All said and done our sales program is progressing well with greater than 50% of our estimated kernel production already contracted to our customers which is in line with our target and previous years while also achieving our target sales price.

While there have been some minor delays in global shipping due to availability of vessels, our exports remain otherwise unaffected as transport of food products is being prioritised globally as it is in Australia.
