Thanks to all who helped me welcome our guests from Seattle University last Sunday! The students were delighted to meet all of the children and remarked that they are bright and knowledgable - I would agree! We're looking forward to welcoming the SU students back this Sunday to teach their first of 3 lessons to our elementary children on the topic of Earth Justice! This Sunday they will cover Carbon Footprint through videos, activities and crafts! Elementary children are invited to come to class directly at 11am: K-2 will be in 320 as usual, and grades 3-6 will all gather in 221.
When I looked around the congregation on Sunday and through the church school classes, I noticed some new faces and some faces we haven't seen for quite some time. The seasons of Advent and Christmas lend themselves to a spirit of hospitality, as we prepare to welcome Christ, God incarnate into our midst. At the same time, may we also be preparing our hearts each Sunday to welcome Christ, the stranger. Please join me in an Advent of intentional hospitality, of going above and beyond what we already do to welcome the other, and to help people feel wrapped up in God's love, expressed in community.

This change was not my plan, though when my life moved me up north and God nudged me… Read full article >
In Case of Fire
During the month of November the leadership of the church has been discussing what our plan is on a Sunday morning in the unlikely event of a fire. The plan for chruch school for the last several years has been for parents to meet kids at the flagpole across the street from Plymouth. We are sticking with that plan and expanding it to include the whole church, as you will find in the following:
