What's Happening this Summer?

N-Sid-Sen for Kids!

You are salt for the earth, O people! Shine so holy and bright, O people! Bring forth the reign of mercy, bring forth the reign of peace; bring forth the reign of justice, bring forth the City of God!

These words frame the theme for this year's program at N-Sid-Sen. From these words the theme of justice rings out to me and how we are personally creating justice and God's city here on earth. And so we are looking at justice as a theme for the kids program at camp. We have some great people visioning the week from the children's perspective and am excited about how it's coming together!

OWL Update

I was hoping to be able to tell you something useful about where we are on OWL. I have no such information. For those parents of next year's 7th and 8th graders, we are looking for teachers and plan to have an information session for parents who are on the fence sometime early on in the summer. I want to get teachers in place before we move forward, so stay tuned!

Who would be fun to work with?

Take a moment and think about your community at Plymouth church . . . who are the people you're closest to? Who have you always wanted to get to know better? Whose faith inspires you? Who have you always wanted to work with?

This is how we are approaching teacher recruitement for the elementary classes this coming year. We are not slugging through the directory, writing down names, rather we are inviting those who have expressed interest in teaching to consider these questions and extend an invitation. Through the process of teaching church school, we are creating small groups with a specific purpose: engage a topic with one another and then… Read full article >

What's Happenin' in the Lounge??

What's happenin' in the Plymouth Lounge at 9:30am this summer?.....Everything Good! This is not only a time to socialize and nibble treats between services, but a time to create something with many different ages. There will be a "Creative Worship Prep" Activity for parents with their children, and every age individual. Just head on down to the Sanctuary end of the Lounge and create something fun that will be a part of the Worship on June 16 and June 30. On June 23rd, we will be making signs for the Gay Pride Parade (actual parade is on the 30th)! Stay tuned for more Sunday activities between 9:30-10:30! Sponsored by your friendly WAM Board… Read full article >

Look for the Archway!

"Enter, Rejoice, and Come In" is the summer theme for our Plymouth Child Care Program on summer Sundays from 10:30-11:30am. We are building a door-way of children's art that children will be able to pass through as they enter the the first floor rooms! Bring your children and help by volunteering one Sunday! All children are welcome to come and be cared for or to care for others! Jamie Shilling (948-5725) and Carrie Stultz (304-1860)

Karen's Summer Schedule

Next week I start my summer schedule and will go down to 10 hours a week from 30.

I will be in the office Tuesdays and every other Sunday starting June 16. I'll miss one or two Tuesdays and Sundays due to vacation plans, but will follow that schedule pretty well.

I plan to put out a newsletter monthly throughout the summer, so this will be the last one for June. Look for one in July, August and then starting up again the first week of September!

Have a great summer - I look forward to seeing you!

Plymouth Women's Retreat

Dear Plymouth Women,

Adult Ed. has decided not to hold our own women's retreat next year and instead encourage us to connect with other women in the conference at the Northwest Regional Women's Retreat! As a member of the planning committee, I'd love to have you join us for a weekend of community, retreat and restoration. Visit our website below and let me know if you have any questions! Blessings, Karen Hollis
