We have an exciting Sunday coming up! The kids who have been working with James on FOCUS for the last several weeks will be leading the very beginning of worship. We will gather at the side door to the sanctuary prior to the beginning of the service and file in on cue.
This is All Saints Sunday, so we will be reading names of all our loved ones who died in the last year, and we will be having communion. This will prove to be a full service! Amy Neer will be taking kids in grades 3-5 out for focus in room 225.
After worship the confirmation class will be gathering with their mentors in their classroom (222) for their first potluck.
Spiritually Healthy Children!
Families who are a part of faith communities often ask, what can I be doing at home? How can I help my kids grow into their own spirituality? Honestly, there are very simple things we can do as a family that will naturally encourage spiritual growth . . . things that a lot of which families do anyway. Still, it's nice to know that the things we do are helping our kids in this way. Nancy Bostrom wrote a lovely little book called, 99 Ways to Raise Spiritually Healthy Children, from which I will share exerpts weekly to plant seeds, share ideas, and offer encouragement for families of ALL SHAPES AND SIZES.
