Our next Family Worship service is scheduled for Sunday, March 10 at 10am in the Chapel. We will be exploring the story of the Lost Sheep as we continue on our Lenten journey.
How was your experience at our February service? Was it something you would like to share with others? Bring a friend in March!
We have a new Confirmation date!!
Attention all Confirmation Families, Teachers, Mentors, and Plymouth Community!
Confirmation Sunday has been moved to June 9, 2013. Please mark this date on your calendars and plan to be there to support our young people as they become church members!
FOCUS with Chimes!
Amy Neer is excited to work with the 3rd-6th graders on a new chime piece for Easter Sunday! Amy needs a commitment from each family to have their children at church to rehearse each week leading up to Easter. It's too hard to prepare when there is a different group of kids each week. The rehearsal dates are 2/24, 3/3, 3/10, 3/17 and 3/24.
We could also use a parent helper to be in the class each week (you don't have to be musical).
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe - Movie Showing
Dear Plymouth Families: Many of the children in grades k-6 participated in our 3 week exploration of Christian themes found in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe Jan. 13, 20 and 27th. I would like to show the movie version and discuss Aslan’s sacrifice (“the deep magic since the beginning of time”) andEdmund’s response to that gift of Grace during Lent, if possible. The possibilities are to show it: •••• during a 2.5 hour Sunday school session (it is 143 minutes long), after church, an evening (Friday or Saturday) at the All-Church retreat at Pilgrim Firs in May. Which time would work best for your family? Would you like to join your child in… Read full article >
Vacation Bible School, anyone??
Dear Plymouth Families: The February 9, 2013 leadership retreat inspired me to think about ways we might reach beyond thewalls of Plymouth to learn from others and share our lives and faith with our broader community. Although we have family camps and camps for tweens and teens, we have never sponsored a Vacation Bible School in Seattle. Years ago we had a strong relationship with Mt. Zion, but since Tony Robinson left and their pastor, Reverend Samuel McKinney retired, it has withered. To that end, I spoke with Georgia McDade, a member of Mount Zion Baptist, who, for the past three years has run a 9 week summer program therefor kids ages… Read full article >
Socks for Mary's Place
We received a call to action from Barbara Campbell about filling the giving tree with socks! Well, last Sunday our PreK class joined the cause by hanging the socks that we have recieved on the tree! Thanks to all of the hands that are helping out!
Jennifer Castle and I have created for you all a Lenten Devotional that you can access online when it fits in your schedule. Today is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent, which brings us to the very first devotional post. Go to the website and see what Spirit has for you today.

Reading Scripture in Worship
On March 17 after worship, David McGee and I will meet with any and all children who would like to read scripture in worship. We will talk generally about reading scripture in worship, read some scripture in a circle and then each child will have a turn at the pulpit . . . or maybe something smaller. Please let me know if your child would like to participate! Oh, and don't forget to wear GREEN!
