Kids Speaking in Worship

We have been so blessed with so many of our young people leading us in parts of our Sunday morning worship. In an effort to help kids feel more comfortable in front of the church and at the microphone, David McGee, Howard Boyd and I will be leading another training after worship on December 8. Kids will be escorted by their teachers from church school to Hildebrand Hall, where they will practice speaking at the microphone. Kids can be picked up from there at 12:45 pm.

Poinsettias!

Parents of kids in grades 3-6, be looking in the mail for a permission slip for your kids to attend this amazing field trip! It is one of the most joyful events of the year for all involved! We will set off to Horizon House at 11 am on Sunday, December 15 with Poinsettias in hand. Upon arrival, we will be divided into groups, which will be guided to rooms of individuals who either can't get out much or who need to see warm faces this season. We will return by the end of the worship service. We need a number of parents to accompany us, so please let Karen Hollis know if you can attend. khollis@plymouthchurchseattle.org

Northwest Boys Choir

Northwest Boychoir returns to present a holiday concert tradition, A festival of Lessons & Carols, 7:30 pm, Friday, December 13, in the Plymouth sanctuary. First performed in 1918, the story tells about the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah and the birth of Jesus in nine short Bible readings from Genesis, the prophetic books and the Gospels, interspersed with singing of Christmas carols, hymns and choir music. Music includes pieces by Bach, Mendelssohn, Rutter and many others.

“We always look forward to performing this program at Plymouth Church,” said Maria Johnson, Northwest Boychoir Executive Director.
