Update from Nicole Krishnaswami JD
Executive Director of the Oregon Medical Board

"The OMB strongly encourages all licensees (including acupuncturists) to postpone or cancel patient visits in the spirit of the Governor's directive to limit exposure and follow social distancing measures. However, the OMB cannot prohibit patient  care visits where no PPE is used. Again, it is strongly encouraged to cancel or postpone all non urgent visits, but we cannot require it.

Telehealth visits are OK. We have some insurance and HIPAA information for telehealth on our COVID webpage. Many insurance companies require synchronous video communication when billing for telehealth services. Licensees must also be sure they are meeting the "standard of care" when providing care via telehealth.

Information has been added to the OMB website, directly linking to Executive Order (EO) 20-10 and 20-12 and the guidance interpreting these orders. "
