Birthdays are a celebration of life.  As a child, my mom always baked my favorite cake and after dinner the entire family gathered around and sang Happy Birthday in honor of my special day. The quality time together was a very simple gesture which was full of love.

Last month I celebrated my fifty-second birthday. My daughter organized a similar gathering and we shared a lot of laughter, stories and anticipation of many more good times ahead.

I'm completely fine with adding years to my life but refuse to use the term "old". By definition, old means no longer young, worn-out, no longer useful.  The psychological impact of that definition is enough to make anyone cringe. 

Although it may seem odd, I had scheduled my annual wellness doctor visit on my birthday.  Being able to complete the multiple pages of health questions in less than five minutes brought me great joy. 

Checking NO in all boxes with regard to negative health symptoms, medications and surgeries provided me with contentment as I reap the benefits of my TCOY philosophy and lifestyle.
 
Genetics is less than an 8% factor in health issues. Simple, small, everyday lifestyle choices either enhance or diminish well-being over time.  Throughout life, YOU must make time to Take Care Of You.

The nurse and doctor were equally delighted and commented on my numbers and over-all well being.  I simply smiled and replied, "I've always placed a high value on my health because I love being active and feeling good."

Decades ago I found my purpose was to be a coach and to mentor others.  It began with racquetball in 1981 but that was merely the start of a much bigger calling.  In 1999, TCOY Wellness was founded. Empowering others with my coaching and programs is my calling.

Your health is my business and I welcome the opportunity to empower, inspire and guide you on the pathway to improve your quality of life.  The best investment you can make is in your health and well-being. Are you waiting for a health crisis to get your attention? 

You don't have to be sick to feel better. How will you view your next birthday or doctor’s visit?  Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Do you need to make some changes?  I'm here to help.
 
How does one live a life of fulfillment? Don't fall in love with boredom and settling into life - experience life!  Take time to take care of you.
