TCOY = Take Care of You

All In!

If you want to experience joy and happiness, remember two things: find the fun and laughter in things and aim to simplify and embrace contentment.

Dissatisfaction is often rooted in constantly striving for perfection and basing your happiness on performance or comparing your life to others rather than embracing who you are and all that you've accomplished in your life.  So much energy and time can be wasted on things that are simply energy vampires - things and situations that literally zap the joy and fun from life.

The happiest people aren't those with the best of everything, they simply make the best of everything.  This begins from the inside and shines outward.  Everyone can have access to this, but it requires an “ALL IN” attitude that life is what one makes of it; thereby, choosing to make the best of all situations.

Rather than seeing situations as problems, view them as challenges and stepping stones to learn and grow.  Who doesn't like a challenge?  It's simply a matter of perspective to see things in a positive manner.

Last month, TVH Parts Americas, the company in which I am the Health and Wellness Coach, hosted an ALL IN family picnic.  The picnic lasted several hours and offered a multitude of games (with ticket rewards to be redeemed for prizes), inflatables (such as the hamster ball pictured above), pony rides, snow cones, popcorn, lunch and even a movie on an outdoor screen with blankets gifted to all that attended.

Honestly, I've never been to such a first class picnic and all this was at no cost to the employees!  Talk about an ALL IN event...this was one for the books!

What if everyone embraced an ALL IN attitude when it comes to taking responsibility for their health and well-being?

What if can be about creating and growing into the best version of you and it can start now.  It's great to reach the age where you know what you want to be, and it's YOU.

Life is not about perfection.  Perfection at best is short lived if obtained at all. Perhaps you suffer from what I'll call OCD (Obsessive Comparison Disorder).  Living a life in which you are constantly comparing yourself to others can cause a multitude of issues.  Let go of comparing and instead push to be the best version of you!  Daily Choices Matter!  Those simple disciplines or errors in judgement over time will reveal your priorities and create either a positive or negative impact on your health and well-being.

Do you long for vitality, energy and the ability to live life to the fullest?  This will not happen by chance but by choice...those daily choices to take care of your mind, body, spirit and emotions.

You don't stop having fun because you get old, you get old because you stop having fun.  Guess I’ll always be young, how about you?

Maybe it's time to adjust to the reality that you are currently dramatically impacting your mental, physical and emotional well-being with your thoughts and actions.  Life in not a spectator sport. It's ALL IN!

Start today with some small action.  Your future self will thank you for it!  What will your action item be?
  • Mentally improve your attitude and outlook?
  • Physically start moving with a short walk, stretching or fitness class?  Physically be aware of your food and beverage choices?
  • Spiritually add some quiet time to rest and/or devotional time?
  • Emotionally pause and realize everyone is struggling with something, thus be slow to judge and increase your empathy by seeing situations from another's point of view?
We can learn from toddlers to live each day with the appreciation for what it's a gift.  Live it as if it's your first day or your last day on earth.  The ALL IN attitude will take you to places that will bring you joy and fulfillment!  Smile and the world will smile back at ya.

Here's a TCOY Challenge - Get moving.
When you exercise, your body releases chemicals called endorphins. These endorphins interact with the receptors in your brain that reduce your perception of pain. Endorphins also trigger a positive feeling in the body.

TCOY Tidbits...

The awkward moment when you use someone else's windshield as a mirror and you realize that the person in the car is looking at you.

Before you judge someone, take a good look in the mirror.

You can't change the world from the rearview mirror.

Perhaps our eyes need to be washed by our tears once in a while, so that we can see life with a clearer view again.

There are two ways of spreading light. One is to be the candle, the other is to be the mirror that reflects it.

Our memories must never be greater than our dreams.
