TCOY = Take Care of You

                                   The Adventure of Life

The King Tut exhibit is currently on display at Union Station in Kansas City. I was delighted to take in the experience and learn more about the young King Tutankhamun.
Although I was intrigued, I must admit, as I entered the tour I had flashbacks of Steve Martin dancing and singing his song "King Tut" on Saturday Night Live and the Bangles song "Walk like an Egyptian".  Oh such fun dance tunes!

History was not my favorite subject in school. I was more interested in the present and anticipation of the future; but what young person isn’t eager for their future.

Now I understand how beneficial it is to learn from history since it often repeats itself, and utilize the wisdom and experience of others for enlightenment and to enhance my future.

While listening to the audio during the exhibit tour, I was amazed by Howard Carter's passion and determination as he began his journey to discover the ancient Egyptian archeological site. Carter worked in Egypt for 31 years before he found King Tut's tomb

Carter worked with Lord Carnarvon who provided funds for the search and recovery of the artifacts.  After five years of excavating in the Valley of the Kings, Carter had little to show for his efforts and expense but Carnarvon relented and agreed to fund one last season.

By the fourth day of work in the new season they found a step that had been cut into the rock and it took the next ten years to catalog the artifacts from this one tomb. What a great example of patience and persistence.

Have you found yourself feeling defeated, exhausted and discouraged in the "adventure of life"?  Delayed does not mean declined.  Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when dreams come true, there is life and joy.  Are you allowing doubt, fear and anxiety to keep you from achieving all that life holds for you?

Let me speak from personal experience.  I understand heartache, challenges and difficulties; however, nothing compares to the joy you feel when the harvest comes; when the hard work, commitment and faith come together at the appropriate time.

Time can be your friend or foe. Results of your actions, or lack of actions, may not show up for years.  If you take care of the minutes and days, the years will take care of themselves.

What are your priorities?  Where you spend your time and money provides insight that can't be denied. If your two priorities are relationships and health, how much time do you commit to them each day?  Are you taking them for granted?

A few weeks ago someone reached out to me in desperation because their health, relationships and career were all in a state of chaos. Most of us feel spent at the end of the week. Without the proper perspective, the demands we place on ourselves each day along with the demands others place on us can spiral out of control.

Although we can't change the situation overnight, we can change the direction.  The first step is admitting you aren't where you want to be and change is needed.  The next step is taking action.  If not now, when?

In an effort to extend my Take Care of You (TCOY) philosophy and wellness program, I have created an on-line group coaching series with a personal consultation and on-going coaching support.  The TCOY Wellness Experience provides real life solutions and guidance on how to take care of you - head, heart and body.

If you have internet access, you can now take part in the TCOY Experience. Things don't change, you change. I encourage you to take action and register for the introductory special pricing of four weeks for only $99.

Learn how to experience life as an adventure and live life full of joy; even during challenging times.  Your well-being is my business.
Until next month, TCOY!

The abundant life does not come to those who have had a lot of obstacles removed from their path by others. It develops from within and is rooted in strong mental and moral fiber.
