Detroit native, ROSEMARIE WILSON a.k.a. One Single Rose is an award winning poet, writer, singer, actress, playwright and a staunch advocate of integrity and fidelity. Her insistence that every day presents an opportunity to live, learn and love positively allows her to motivate others when living throws curves at our existence. In 2005, Wilson’s conscience was awakened with her induction into the literary world as editor of “Saved, Single and Satisfied.”  Since that time, she has been active as a guest on blog talk radio shows and television programs. The emotional struggle of Wilson’s transition from singing and writing with the addition of spoken word performances into her repertoire was difficult.  After shedding fears of delivering the spoken word, Wilson’s spoken word journey officially took flight during her second performance in June 2010. Two months later, on August 21, 2010 she was named 2010 Poetry Author of the Year and New & Upcoming Poet of the Year at the 1st Annual National Poetry Award ceremony in Raleigh, North Carolina.  In 2011, Wilson was nominated as Poetry Author of the Year with the National Poetry Awards for the second year in a row. She is currently nominated as 2014 Poetry Author of the Year with the National Poetry Awards. Her inspirational poem for the thick madames entitled “P.H.A.T. Girl” is a 2014 Spoken Word Billboard Lyrical Influence Spoken Word Community Song/Artist of the Year nominee.  Metro Times Reader’s Choice named One Single Rose “2014 Best Local Poet” and she also won the Motown Museum’s “Spoken Word 2014 Artist of the Year” competition. Wilson receives frequent requests to pen poems for individuals and groups on various subject matters and has made national and international appearances ever since. Her first full-length stage play entitled ADDICTION, takes the stage on Broadway in Detroit October 19, 2014.  For tickets http://onesinglerose.com/addiction-the-stage-play/.  Access Rosemarie at http://onesinglerose.com/

FREE IS MY LIFE's founder JACKIE HARPER shows us that there is a way to get great free stuff without putting in too much work.  Jackie started FREE IS MY LIFE while looking for a way to cover private school for her son and entertainment without breaking the bank. "My son's private school education is my number one priority. With the price of gas over $3 a gallon and rising utility bills, I was trying to cut down on entertainment expenses but still go to fun events in Detroit that were reasonably priced." Not only did Jackie find great events within the city of Detroit , she also found most of them were FREE. "My friends could not believe that Detroit had so many free things going on. I started telling everyone I knew." Jackie discovered that the Detroit Public Libraries were great sources of many free events. "Most suburban cities have only one library, but Detroit has over twenty libraries and they all have wonderful free events for the kids. There are three libraries within a 7 minute drive from my home in Northwest Detroit and they all have wonderful events that my son loves." To get out the word Jackie found that blogging was a fast way to get up a website and update the constantly changing free event information. "There are many blogs that list events in Metro Detroit. The main focus of FREE IS MY LIFE is FREE events within the city of Detroit." The website also lists national freebies, coupons, contests and many local scholarships to schools within metro Detroit. "Detroit is a great city with great things going on that many people don't know about --and they especially don't know that the events are free. I hope that FREE IS MY LIFE will allow people to stretch their paychecks and discover the many diverse treasures that Detroit has to offer." Jackie has appeared on the daytime show "The Talk", been featured on "Real Detroit Weekly" as a "Hot Click", named a 2010 "Tech Diva" by the Michigan Front Page Magazine and is a featured blogger in The Oakland Press. Access Jackie at freeismylife@gmail.com or  visit her online http://www.freeismylife.com/
