Hello Fellow Jaycees,
This month I am focused on our events. Have you considered chairing one of our Chapter events? I sincerely hope you do. There certainly are a variety of openings from the smaller kinds to the more involved kinds to fit what you feel you are ready for. Chairing an event is certainly a rewarding experience. Not only do you gain experience in managing a project and develop leadership skills, it’s also a great way to get to know others in the Chapter and the community. You’ll come to find that you belong to an organization that prides itself in both community service and getting down into some serious fun. You get to say that you organized an event that truly benefited all involved in the planning and participation of it. Afraid of event failure? Don’t be! Of course there are snags and roadblocks that can come up, but you know what? We are an organization that builds each other up when goings get a bit rough. Rest assured, you have support; people willing to help you realize event success. Event chairing for sure has its challenges, but that’s how you grow and become a stronger, more skilled person. Sure there’s such a thing as natural talent, but more often than not, we have to build our skill sets by being active. That’s where chairing events comes in. I sincerely encourage you to consider taking on event chairing. We are seeking chairs for events such as Easter Baskets, 4th Of July Beer Tent, and the July 6th  Chapter Family Picnic. Take a look at the events listing that is attached to every Chapter agenda and find events that indicate need for a chairperson. Go ahead and speak to the Vice President of the areas of which events fall under their areas and they are certainly happy to help get you started in the right direction. Have something new you want to organize? Something that isn’t a standard Chapter event? Say so and we’ll get you going on it!

JCI National Convention in Las Vegas • April 6-9

Program Manager: Jackie Quasius

Hello all! I'm proud to be the 2017 ONTO Program Manager for Wisconsin for our Las Vegas National Convention! This is a great opportunity expand your Jaycee world and see what our fine organization does in other states as well as internationally. I can't even tell you what an awesome experience I had at my first National Convention in Detroit in September -- and that was Michigan! This is LAS VEGAS!!!
Convention starts Thursday, April 6th with a Welcome Party where you get to know many different people from all over the US. Friday brings the JCI morning show which is broadcast on the web, along with various trainings. That evening our State spends dinner together and the rest of the night is yours! Saturday has exciting trainings throughout the day and is capped off with an award ceremony and social gathering. Don't worry -- there is time in there to relax and socialize and explore.
The price of the this package is $150/person which includes registration, a t-shirt, and a goody bag. Airfare is on your own. Rooms are $109/night and more info to come on reserving your rooms through the State.
I can't stress enough how much I got out of National Convention and what a great opportunity it is. To see and learn all of what we do around the US in various states via other Chapters is amazing. It is fantastic to be surrounded by other passionate, like-minded individuals that truly live up to "Service to Humanity is the best work of Life!"

Greetings from the Sheboygan Jaycees membership organizers! Our current member tally is 61 people, and more are always welcome!

If you've joined our chapter within the last year or if you're interested in learning about about the Jaycees, be sure to joins us for "Jaycees 101" on Thursday, March 2nd at 6pm before the Chapter meeting at the Quarryview Center. This will help all members get a feel for what the organization provides and opportunities to get more involved within the Jaycees and our community.
In preparation for the Installation Banquet, all members are invited to show up early at the chapter meeting on February 2 and/or stay late to make their own masks for the ball! Blank masks, felt, paint, glitter glue, and many more goodies will all be supplied. The fun begins at 6:00 before the meeting, and continues afterward. So come ready to create... or if you have your own already to make backups for our roosters.
Membership Referral Program
We need each and every one of our members to help promote and grow the Jaycees. As an added incentive we are offering a membership referral program that is easy and rewarding. YOU GET $20 in Chamber Cash when your friend joins and lists you as the person who referred them on their application. It's as simple as that! So, what are you waiting for? Bring your friends to our next event! (This program is available only to members in good standing).
