ISA Elections

Do you care about student issues? Would you like to bring new ideas to campus? Are you interested in getting involved and being part of a student organization? If your answer is “Yes” to all these questions, we have a great opportunity for you! 
The International Student Association Election Committee is accepting applications for students interested in running for ISA president and vice president for 2020-21. Please visit this link to apply:  Be sure to carefully read the criteria to see if you are eligible to run. Applications are due by June 24. 
The International Student Association is a dedicated organization for international as well as domestic students. It acts as an umbrella for different international student RSOs. They create events that bring diversity and culture to our campus and ensure that student voices are heard. You are invited to get involved and help represent your peers!

Diversity & Inclusion Grant Ineligibility

Some of you have mistakenly received an email from Diversity and Inclusion about their emergency grant. Unfortunately, international students are ineligible for that grant. Please watch your inbox for more information on additional funding from the Kearney Center.

Immigration Updates

  • Traveling: If you are planning on traveling internationally during this time, please make sure you meet with your immigration advisor to talk about documents to travel with, as well as travel considerations.
  • Need a Currently Enrolled Letter?: You can request a currently enrolled letter online. Once you submit the form, you will receive a letter within 3-5 business days. 
  • Summer Advising Hours Posted: 
  • NOTICE about KCISS Forms: If you have a KCISS form that needs to be processed (i.e. I-20 Travel Request, CPT form, OPT request, Transfer Out request, etc…), please send your immigration advisor an email with your fully completed form, and any other necessary documents (if applicable). Please allow 3-5 business days to have your documents processed. KCISS Forms can be found HERE.
  • Fall 2020 registration: Fall 2020 registration is open—you may need to meet with you academic advisor to obtain your individual access code in order to register for the Fall 2020 semester. For undergraduate students, you must enroll in at least 12 credits. For graduate students, you must enroll in at least 6 credits to maintain your full-time student status.
  • Expired I-765 Form Notice: On 05/31/2020 the I-765 Form expired and USCIS has not updated the form. Since the USCIS form has expired without an updated form being issued they have continued to accept the old form. If you are filing the I-765 Form, make sure that you use the edition date of 12/26/19, found at the bottom of the I-765 form. President Davenport has invited the campus community to join him and the president's Cabinet in a series of Virtual Town Hall events via Zoom. The Virtual Town Hall series is part of an ongoing effort to maintain communication across campus and discuss topics of interest.

Remote Access to a Doctor!

When MSU Health Services is closed, you have a remote option through your insurance plan to talk to a doctor.  It is HealthiestYou Telehealth.  1-855-870-5858    You will need your insurance ID number which is on your card or your account with UHC Student Resources.  This is free for anybody on UHCSR.    To access your card, go to    This is a great option for nights, weekends, winter break or when you are traveling.

COVID-19 Hotline 

If you have concerns about COVID-19 (coronavirus), please call the student health services hotline at (507) 389-5591 to discuss your symptoms. They also have a COVID self-check on your Patient Portal to enter symptoms and receive advice.  If it has been determined that you should be tested for COVID-19, the International Student Insurance is waiving any deductible or copay costs.
