The September Full Moon is the Corn Moon.
In most countries corn is called maize.
Maize is a native Taino word meaning “sacred mother,” or “giver of life.”
Corn can be produced in various colors including blackish, bluish-gray, purple, green, red and white but the most common color grown is yellow.
There is one silk for every kernel that grows in an ear of corn.
Corn is grown in every continent except Antarctica

Fall Equinox! September 21!
Also known as the Holiday of Mabon in the Pagan calendar, it marks a spiritual celebration to honor of the change of seasons. The intentions you set around this time will stay with you throughout the winter and carry you into the spring.

Cannabis Nurse Consultations

"A recent patient consult was seeking relief from Covid symptoms after being discharged from the hospital. Her complaints of "active residual symptoms" included shortness of breath, coughing with spasms/body pain, and anxiety.

I recommended NurseGrown Organics CBD oil and CBD flower as a "rescue inhaler."

The final report was decrease in anxiety and episodes of shortness of breath and finally able to achieve restful sleep."

Medical Marijuana in Vermont
Golden Lemons by Crockett Family Farms

From Indoor to Outdoor!

Jessilyn is a cultivating medical marijuana patient and caregiver for another nurse in cancer remission.

Golden Lemons (Lemon Skunk x Kosher Kush) by Crockett Family Farms is an Indica leaning hybrid that Jessilyn grew indoors this past winter. She held her promise of high yields and potent terpenes with copious amounts of trichomes and resin.  The indoor yield was OVER A POUND for one plant!

Limonene, a terpene abundant in Golden Lemons, has historically been noted in Aromatherapy for its mood-boosting effects, as an anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) and anti-depressant.

This season Jessilyn is growing Golden Lemons outdoors in a 100 gallon living soil grow bag, and is very excited to see how she does outdoors under the golden sunshine!

Cannabis Nurse Favorite Pick Of The Moon
Each month, one of our many multitalented healers and nurses will tell us which NurseGrown product they personally LOVE and recommend most!
Jessie's Pick: NurseGrown's CBD Oil

"I love NurseGrown Organics’ CBD oil. Consistent dosing per drop makes it easy to titrate and adjust the doses.

The rich color and taste shows it’s loaded with important terpenes and flavonoids.

Those beneficial components are stripped out of many other products. Not only do NurseGrown products feature exemplary testing, but they also have fantastic price points.

If you’re looking for therapeutic CBD products, NurseGrown is my first choice."

Cannabis Nurse Cannabis Tip Of The Moon
The endocannabinoid system (ECS), simply, keeps us in check and provides balance. CB2 receptors play a very important role in our ECS.

Did you know that we have CB2 receptors all throughout our body and in our skin? Applying CBD or other cannabinoids topically may provide benefits for the skin, such as reduce inflammation and heal skin conditions. Many consumers are also using topical CBD preparations for anti-aging benefits.

For those who suffer from chronic pain or systemic conditions, a plan that incorporates both topical and ingested forms of cannabinoids is typically best."

Sensory Meditation
"Through the practice of sensory meditation, you can learn how to develop a deeper awareness using your senses. In time, this awareness will offer you insights into an aspect of yourself that rests beneath your senses—your energetic self—known in Sanskrit as the pranamaya kosha.

Literally, prana means vital energy; maya means illusion; and kosha means layer. So this aspect of yourself is the illusionary layer of vital energy!"

Cannabis Nurse Herbal Tip Of The Moon
Beautiful Borage!

As this is a summer of bees in the Willamette Valley of Southern Oregon, they are bringing attention to Borage (Borago officinalis).

Borage is a beautiful plant with blue star shaped flowers. The flowers are edible, tasting a bit like cucumber, and make a colorful addition to salads and dinner plates. The greens can be cooked and eaten or added to soups. Once borage is established in a garden, she readily self-seeds and will pop up in new spots each spring.

Using a flower essence of Borage will bring a sense of courage to the user, something we all need more of as we move through these darker times.

Give gratitude for our plant friends.

NurseGrown Organics Patient Testimonial

"I have Psoriatic Arthritis and have been using the NurseGrown Organics CBD balm. I had been using a steroid topical cream for a long time, but stopped because your CBD balm works just as well, if not better, and I can use it continuously, unlike topical steroids.

Your balm really helps reduce the plaque build up on my skin and helps heal the redness and keeps the area moisturized. I do also take an oral prescription medication for PA, and have found the combination of the two extremely beneficial.  I am starting to take NurseGrown Organics CBD Oil daily, and am excited to see even more changes and improvement."

Botanical Medicine

Lately, it seems as though everyone is talking about psychedelics and plant medicine as a new idea. However, prior to the Controlled Substance Act of 1970, LSD psychotherapy was used by over 40,000 patients, with over 1,000 clinical papers and several dozen books published, and six international conferences organized on the topic.

Currently, researchers and therapists are modeling psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy around these previous research and ideas.

In one recent study (Ross et al., 2016), 83% of participants who had depression along with life threatening cancer had remission from their depressive symptoms, compared to 14% in the control group. This is twice the response when compared to the average response of traditional antidepressants. Currently, psilocybin for treatment resistant depression is in phase II clinical trials.

- CJ Spotswood, BSN, RN-BC, PMHNP-S, (one of NurseGrown Organics FABULOUS Nurse Affiliates), the EntheoNurse, founding member of the International Association of Psychedelic Nursing, will be speaking at the Mt. Tam Psilocybin Summit online September 17-20. For more information and to register
