Strands of Genius is curated lovingly by Rosie & Faris, usually on Mondays & Thursdays, but occasionally you'll find it in your inbox other days too. They're unpredictable like that. They hope you read it, enjoy it, tweet it, share it -- and tell your mom ;)

Hello to all of our new subscribers from the 4As Stratfest! We had such a lovely time meeting you lot. Now we're in London, and while you're reading this we'll be on-stage, or just wrapping up at the Worldwide Partners Summit.

Strands is brought to you by the 4As Strat Fest, Josh & Elea, the Bushwick hood, the J train -- and the new-to-us Fulton Street Station, Irving Coffee Roasters, an all-too-delicious bagel breakfast sandwich, Mean Girls the musical (#ApexPredator), followed by Shake Shack, and a wonderful visit to The Assemblage (which genuinely, y'all, is the coolest, most awesome co-working space-like-thing we've seen).

Is The Secret To Productivity Really Just Doing What You Enjoy?

#YouDoYouBoo #Productivity #LifeHackWeCanGetBehind
We've talked about the narrative fallacy before: There's danger in saying "If this, then that" -- especially when it comes to life advice.  But this advice we can get behind: It turns out enjoyment sustains motivation. The biggest predictor of whether something gets done is whether it's fun to do. If it sounds too self-indulgent to you, you should absolutely read this. ::THE GUARDIAN::

TL;DR | Your Daily Dose Of The Most Salient Stories In Tech

#Inspiration #Tech #News
TL;DR is one of our favorite acronyms in tech -- For those of you who weren't aware, it stands for: Too Long, Didn't Read. Fortunately, Dan Ni does the long reading so that you can get the down and dirty. TLDR is a daily, curated newsletter with links and short summaries of the most interesting stories in tech. We love that he also provides estimated read time so you can get an idea of how much attention is required if you do decide to click through.  ::TLDR::

#HaveADrink #GetOutOfTheOffice
Our admin extraordinaire, Ashley, shared this with us and it was too good not to pass along. Research shows that tipsy people solved 2-3 more problems (and more quickly) than the sober ones. Professor Jarosz, behind the research, acknowledges that alcohol *can* slow us down mentally, but "creative problem solving is one area in which a key effect of drunkenness - loss of focus - is a good thing." Here's a case to host your next brainstorm offsite :) ::HARVARD BUSINESS REVIEW::
