2014 HUD Appropriations Bills Stall in House and Senate

Shaw Neighborhood Housing Corporation, Grand Oak Hill Community Corporation(Tower Grove South) and Southwest Neighborhood Housing Corporation (Southwest Garden) seeks joint resources from HUD to increase housing development and neighborhood improvement with a reach of approximately 28,000 individuals. UMSL's Community Partnership Project is offering the Neighborhood Leadership Academy which runs from September 5th-November 21st.  The academy combines hands-on training with seminars, discussions and personal projects to create effective neighborhood leaders.   For more information click here.

Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grant
This HUD grant looks to invest in the implementation of comprehensive community development plans that work to replace distressed public housing, improve educational outcomes, improve conditions in neighborhoods to encourage reinvestment, and other community improvement activities.  For more information click here.

racial Disparities and the St. Louis Housing Market 
OneSTL commissioned EHOC to conduct a Fair Housing Equity assessment of the current conditions of the St.Louis housing market. OneSTL is a result of St. Louis receiving a $4.7 million planning grant for creating sustainable neighborhoods in the region. This assessment will report on how the region is addressing racial disparities in the housing market and how OneSTL and it's partners can address the disparity. For the full publication click here.
