For 2014, Mayor Slay has committed to planting 50 monarch gardens in public areas, such as at City parks, fire stations and City Hall.  He has challenged residents, businesses and community groups to plant another 200 monarch gardens in private or public spaces.

Choice Neighborhood Planning Grant NOFA
HUD is accepting applications for the 2014 Choice Neighborhood Planning Grant program. Grantees are expected to achieve focus on people, housing, and neighborhood improvement.  The deadline for this grant is August 12.  For more information click here.

KaBOOM! Playground Grant

Economic Mobility: Measuring the American Dream
The Department of Housing and Urban Development published this article on a project looking at economic mobility across cities and community types throughout the US.
