Construction boot Camp to close after a decade of service
Vivian Martain, Director of Construction Prep, located in Wellston's MET Center will have to close its doors and discontinue servicing unemployed persons.  The construction boot camp funding stream is nearly depleted which will force the camp to find a new home and new funding sources. For the full story click here.    

Metro St. Louis Police Report on Crime shows Decline but Some Residents Aren't Convinced
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department presented it's crime statistics last week. In the report it shows that crime has decreased, some residents still don't feel safe in their own neighborhoods.  For the full story and to look at crime by neighborhood click here.

OneSTL seeks members to join the network
OneSTL has been officially approved by the governing board of East West Gateway. Citizens for Modern Transit releases a policy brief on form based code for the st. Louis region
Citizens for Modern Transit released a policy brief earlier this month that included overlay zoning codes for St. Louis City and the City of Pagedale.  This report can be a useful resource for creating more walkable, liveable communities in the St. Louis region.  For the full brief click here.

2014 Community Builders Network Awards to Include Rise Grant Awards Recognition
The 2014 Community Builders network Awards Reception set to take place on March 6th at the Missouri Botanical Garden will also include recognition of the Rise Grant Award Winners. NPR Discusses Research on Gentrification and Longtime Residents
Studies from the past decade looking at the impact of gentrification on longtime residents in neighborhoods has yielded interesting results.
